Corner Brook Intermediate enacted its Secure School protocol on Tuesday when staff became aware of an individual in possession of potential weapons. Bayfm news reached out to the Department of Education and they provided a written response. The statement reads, “The RNC was engaged and responded quickly to address the situation, while students and staff remained in their classrooms and continued with their studies. Police took an individual into custody and removed them from school property. The Secure School protocol was in place for about one hour. It was lifted at approximately 11:45 a.m. and school resumed normal operations.”
