Great news for some residents living on the north shore of the Bay of Islands. There’s a meeting tonight for anyone interested in a new ballfield in the Irishtown-Summerside area. Brittany Chubbs is chair of the Recreation Committee and she says there’s been a lot of interest in this since last year. She says everyone is invited to town hall at 6 this evening for a meeting about plans for the ballfield. She says work started last year and they are in need of resources, finances and physical labour.
Meanwhile, the town is hosting a fundraiser for the ballfield this weekend. There will be an ATV ride this Saturday starting 9 a.m. at the town hall. Riders will be going to Cox’s Cove falls to make their own pizza for lunch.
