A 78-year-old man appeared in Corner Brook Provincial Court yesterday after being charged with attempted murder. Arthur Parsons was arrested on Wednesday after a shooting in McIvers. There were no injuries but the RNC issued a shelter in place asking residents to lock doors and stay away from windows. Cst Stephanie Myers says Parsons was arrested shortly afterwards without incident at a home on Lower Cove Road and he has also been charged with careless use of a firearm, contravention of storage regulation, pointing a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, unauthorized possession in a motor vehicle and discharging a firearm with intent.
