Fifty people from across the province have completed a test that shows them a snapshot of what it’s like to be a police officer. The RCMP recently hosted the Police Fitness Assessment (PFA) in St. John’s. Cpl Jesse O’Donaghey says it includes three separate physical ability tests that predict a member’s success when performing the most physically demanding tasks common and essential to policing - all designed to prepare them for success at training at the RCMP’s national training facility. He says it replaces the former PARE test that must be passed before heading to RCMP training in Regina..
O’Donaghey says RCMP NL Recruiting is looking forward to hosting another similar event in the near future and other applicants in the system will be contacted. A career as a police officer with the RCMP NL featured more than 150 specialties to choose from, working anywhere in Canada.
