Housing Project Facilitator Paul Brake says they’ll be accepting applications for this program again in the spring so anyone who did not get approved, can apply again.
Qalipu’s Housing Division provides support for members, including home heating, emergency housing, and accessibility programs. Housing Project Facilitator Paul Brake says the Home Energy Efficiency Program initiative helps with heat pump installations. He says the intention is to reduce reliance on wood and oil, and greenhouse gas emissions and there was a lot of interest from members with 400 applications.
Since then a team has evaluated and scored each application based on certain criteria like household income and age of the home to be able to determine the need. Brake says they’ve sent out letters informing members of their application status, whether it be denial or acceptance offering the funding. He says they’ll be accepting applications for this program again in the spring so anyone who did not get approved, can apply again.
