Police say the robbery happened inside a parked vehicle when Sheppard allegedly held the driver at knifepoint, robbed the victim of personal property, slashed one of the vehicle’s tires and fled the area prior to police arrival.
Twenty-six-year-old Bobby Sheppard has been arrested after an armed robbery at the Irving Big Stop in Deer Lake. RCMP say shortly after 3:00 a.m. yesterday, an employee at the location activated an alarm. Police say the robbery happened inside a parked vehicle when Sheppard allegedly held the driver at knifepoint, robbed the victim of personal property, slashed one of the vehicle’s tires and fled the area prior to police arrival. He was arrested without incident at a residence nearby. During the crime, a number of individuals were present both at the gas pumps and in the parking lot of the business. RCMP are looking for dash cam or cellphone footage from the area during that time. Anyone who may have witnessed this incident is asked to contact Deer Lake RCMP at 709-635-2173.
