19 year old Jesse Messervey, who was not a graduate, deployed bear spray and some teens received minor injuries.
A 19 year old man has been arrested by Bay St. George RCMP for spraying bear spray at an outdoor party in Barachois Brook. Police say the incident happened during the early morning hours on May 3rd. Cpl Jolene Garland says a number of teenagers were gathered at the beach as part of a graduation party. 19 year old Jesse Messervey, who was not a graduate, deployed bear spray and some teens received minor injuries.
Garland says he is facing eight counts of assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon, and failure to comply with a release order
Messervey appeared in court and was released on a number of conditions. His next court appearance is scheduled for June 26th
