18-year old facing weapons charges after a weekend incident at Margaret Bowater Park in Corner Brook

    Just after 9:30 p.m. on Saturday (Oct. 4), RNC went to the park after getting a report that someone was in the area pointing a firearm.

    18-year old Frank Major is facing a number of weapons related charges after an incident at Margaret Bowater Park. Just after 9:30 p.m. on Saturday (Oct. 4), RNC went to the park after getting a report that someone was in the area pointing a firearm. Police checked the connecting trail network and no one was injured. Just before 11:30 p.m., a man matching a description was located in the West Valley Road and Elford Avenue area with a long barrel BB gun, pellets, and a hunting-style knife. Major has been charged with assault with a weapon, possession of weapon for dangerous purpose, pointing a firearm and using an imitation firearm while committing an offence. Anyone with information is asked to call the Corner Brook detachment at 637-4100.
