The 16 Days of Activism is underway and ends December 10th, on World Human Rights Day. This week on Bayfm’s The Plain Truth, host Paula Sheppard spoke with Allison Caines, the Violence Prevention and SARA Coordinator with the Corner Brook Status of Women Council. Caines says this campaign started in the early nineties and is a time to address issues of gender based violence in all forms. She says gender based violence is real and many people experience it. The campaign focuses on education and awareness for survivors, gives an opportunity for people to learn more about it, and create change put a stop to gender based violence.
