"to unwind a sea shell" is a collaboration between three NL artists: contemporary dancer Hilary Knee, pianist Stephen Eckert, and composer Robert Humber. Originally created via online communication, with all three members scattered across the country, finally Hilary, Stephen and Robert are all home together to present a colourful evening of piano and dance. They will present several solo piano pieces written by Humber, as well as some classic works by Claude Debussy and others. The heart of the program will be the piece "to unwind a sea shell," a 25-minute solo dance piece that explores themes of anxiety and the long journey to overcome it, "venturing beyond one's shell."
