It was one of the biggest radiothons to date, and on Friday over $344K was pledged to support healthcare in the western region.
The 36th annual radiothon in support of the Western Regional Hospital Foundation hit the airwaves on BayFM from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.. Many volunteers, doctors, businesses, service groups, schools and individuals went before the microphones to make it a fun filled day, as always. The foundation’s Executive Director, Suzanne Carey, read out the total and with $200k from government, the total came to $544,377.95.
Over the years, many millions of dollars has been raised through radiothon to buy medical equipment for the health needs of people throughout the western zone.
