A company with plans to build a wind farm and salt dome in Bay St. George has resubmitted their proposal to government. In June, Triple Point Resources registered plans for the Fischells Salt Dome Power Generation Project with the Environment Department but resubmitted it on Friday with more details. The project would use Adiabatic Compressed Air Energy Storage technology, supporting future export opportunities. It will also include a main facility, salt caverns, salt production and pipelines to carry seawater from St. George’s Bay. A transmission line would also be used to connect to the Bottom Brook station.The deadline for public comment is October 24th and the minister’s decision is due by November 2nd.
