UPDATE (8:15 p.m.):
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary has one man in custody following a stabbing at Downtown Entertainment in the Valley Mall. The male victim has been sent to hospital with what are believed to be serious but non-life threatening injuries. The investivation is ongoing.

Police say there is no risk to public safety.
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary and paramedics from NL Health Services responded to the Valley Mall this evening for an apparent stabbing, according to a witness. This has not been confirmed by officials.
The RNC has released a statement advising of an increased police presence in the Valley Road, Wellington Street and Mount Bernard Avenue areas and ask any suspicious activity be reported by calling 637-4100.
BayFM News has reached out to the RNC for further comment on the incident.
