NLHC has no plans to change emergency shelter arrangement at Hotel Corner Brook

    Minister Joedy Wall will be in Corner Brook this week to have discussions with local MHAs about this and other housing needs in the area. 

    The Newfoundland Labrador Housing Corporation uses Hotel Corner Brook as an emergency shelter response in this area. In a statement sent to Bayfm news, it says they have no plans to change this arrangement in the near term.

    Meanwhile, NLHC is exploring potential options for creating dedicated emergency shelter and supportive housing in Corner Brook, but nothing has been finalized. Minister Joedy Wall will be in Corner Brook this week to have discussions with local MHAs about this and other housing needs in the area. 

    Late last  month, the Auditor General released a report into the Transitional Supportive Living Initiative that came to be known as Horizons at 106 in St. John’s. From February 15, 2024, to December 31, 2025, total expenditures there reached $24 million.
